Welcome back to another beautifully freezing cold day in the Catskills. It was great to see everyone at the Hudson Dinner Club and shoutout to BackBar for hosting the after party. I’m already working on the next one — hope to announce next week. With that said, there’s a lot happening in this edition, so let’s get into it and I’ll see ya out there.

JOIN THE TEAM

After nearly two and a half years of building Catskill Crew solo, the time has come for me to explore bringing on some support - and what better place to start than right here.

I’m looking for one amazing human to join me on this daring mission: to build a deeper connection to our land, our history, and our community, all while using fun as our North Star.

I have big plans for the future of Catskill Crew, and it’s a journey that I cannot accomplish on my own. So, if you’re interested in joining the Catskill Crew team, or perhaps you know someone who would be a great fit, you can learn about the role via the link below.

I'm not rushing this — whether it happens today or six months from now, I'm waiting for the right person.

FARM FRIENDS

How about this… We raise some money to adopt/sponsor local farm animals that are in need. In the process, we support amazing local organizations that are giving them their second chance.

Based on preliminary research we can help → pigs, cows, goats, chickens, rabbits, horses, and more.

It’s not very expensive, for example, we can sponsor a cow for a whole year with only a few hundred bucks.

If this gets approved, I’ll share next steps so we can begin the process to support our new farm friends — and obviously organize some hangs to actually meet them.

QUARTERLIES

The Winter Quarterlies continues to ship out and are making their way to your mailboxes. If you want one, you can get it here.

CONTRIBUTE TO THE CREW

Catskill Crew is 100% free to read, independently owned, and locally operated (heck, it’s just me).

Your contributions go toward keeping the Crew going so we can have more fun, build more community, and not have each edition filled with ads. I appreciate any and all support my friends! - Michael

HAPPENINGS

Catskill Crew has teamed up with our friends over at Upstate Curious to put together a little get together — an Après Ski Happy Hour to be precise — at Foxfire Mountain House on Saturday, January 24th from 3-5pm. We will have some snacks and you can wet your whistle at the bar. No need to RSVP, just come on through, bring some friends, and if you want to stick around for dinner (which many of us will be) just make a reservation today.

Disco Chalet is around the corner. Turning a mid-winter night into a nostalgic alpine escape, where vintage après-ski style meets world-class disco and house music from internationally and locally acclaimed DJs. It’s all going down on February 7th at Inness. Get a tix.

Shandaken Inn is back with their Supper Club Series. Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 25th. There will be welcome drinks, vinyl by my buddy DJ Harlan, a 3-course family-style menu by Executive Chef Bryon Lopez, and more. Learn more, book your reservation, and enjoy.
