Come on in. Take a load off. The evenings are lighter, the birds are migrating back to the mountains and the forest is reawakening. Enjoy the edition my friends and I’ll see ya out there.

MURDER IN MOUNT TREMPER
A crime will be committed at dinner — and everyone is a suspect.
Come on out for MURDER IN MOUNT TREMPER, an immersive murder mystery dinner where Southern Gothic drama meets Catskills folklore.
There will be candlelight, secrets, family-style feasting…and a crime that unfolds across the table and through the night.

Catskill Crew and Foxfire Mountain House have joined forces to host this fun evening — but tickets sold out in less than 8 hours (we did not expect that), so we decided to add another night. Same story — another night — 40 more tickets available. Grab a ticket and join the mystery.
P.S. If you want to stay the night at Foxfire, ticket holders can book a room directly right here.

THE GREAT MIGRATION
CONTRIBUTED BY IVY MACKEY
As winter rapidly melts into spring, a terrific migration begins. Amphibians — wood frogs, yellow-backed salamanders, northern red salamanders — emerge from their winter burrows with a singular quest: journeying to vernal pools (temporary small pools that dry up by summer) for mating season.
This can involve traversing up to a quarter mile to reach their destination and unfortunately is often punctuated by perilous road crossings. Amphibians are so deeply important to our ecosystem - truly tiny but mighty! They provide insect population regulation, a food source for predators, and nutrient cycling between aquatic and terrestrial environments.
So how can you help protect these tiny beings on their journey? You can assist at high volume crossing locations near you and collect data for future protection and research. Not up for holding little critters? That's okay, you can just avoid driving on those wet 40 degree nights during March and April, especially back roads/roads with waterways.
For more info on training, updates on when migration is occurring, and where to get involved near you, visit the DEC site here.
Thank you for helping protect our tiny neighbors!

SPRING COUNTDOWN
TOGETHER WITH PINK’S
Spring arrives in t-minus 10 days. It’s time to schedule the clean and get your home in tip-top shape. Brush off the cobwebs, get those windows sparkling, empty out the gutters, and get the deck ready for grill season.
There’s no better team to get the job done than the great folks at Pink’s. They show up when they say they will and they do the work that has earned them hundreds of 5 star reviews.

DINNER CLUB
The next Catskill Crew Dinner Club is locked in for April 2nd at 6:30 PM in RHINEBECK.

Mark your calendars, take the quiz, get matched with 5 other Crew Members, and come out to meet some new friends. Optional after party details will be shared during dinner.

PROVISIONS
I’m packing up and shipping out boxes at record pace — still going strong and holding the USPS local record. Mountain Memory and Catskill Puzzles are in stock.

The latest addition of Mountain Memory is a classic memorization game with a local twist. Fifty wooden tokens. Twenty-five pairs. Each printed with local celebrities, including black bears, hemlocks, axes, and eagles. Flip them over, test your memory, and see if you can match them all up.
The game comes in a drawstring pouch so you can throw it in your pack, play it on the go or right at home while you wait for your ice dams to melt.
